Luke 7:22 So He replied to the messengers, “Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor.”
To me, this sums up the gospel. The impossible being made possible by the Creator of the universe–the One who is able to create everything out of nothing, the One who is able to feed 5,000 out of two fish and five loaves of bread, the One with whom you give to receive, you die to live, you surrender to gain, you humble yourself to be exalted. Where everything that seems so backwards in the world’s eyes is perfectly right in God’s eyes. Where the humble, lowly, and unassuming things are used greatly in bringing God glory. Where when we are attacked, we are to respond not with revenge, but with love. A love that is impossible in the world is made possible and accessible through our risen Savior who did the impossible: lived a perfect, sinless life, died, and raised Himself, cleansing us of our sin and giving us the opportunity to be in a right relationship with God.
